Seriously people have to always be negative. This Once a firefighter always a firefighter shirt day was made and he was happy. Nothing wrong with it. With all these negative stories on the news, it’s nice to see a heart warming one! The child isn’t non-verbal. He communicates using a different language. The child is non-vocal. Using correct terminology is important. Some are asking why is this fireman getting so much praise. Well he didn't have to take a few minutes to sign with this boy. He went a little up and beyond what he normally does and he deserves a word of praise.

I dont know this fireman, but I want to thank him for spending a minute or two to communicate and make this boys day, Thank you Mr. Fireman. Brings back memories when my dad was a fireman so long ago. My dad would have done the same thing.  Did anyone else see the adults in the back in the house? Why didn’t they answer? She just sat down on the couch. I’m assuming the mom was recording the video. She started talking at the end and thanked the firefighter. To the people saying he shouldn't be getting so much praise, he didn't have to take the time to do this Once a firefighter always a firefighter guys v-neck. He didn't have to talk to this kid. But he did. He took the time out of his day to make a kids day better. I am 15, learning sign language because I want to be a first responder (EMT) after highschool I hope I get to interact with people like this. If you think it's part of the job description walk up to a group of first responders and ask how many know their job title in sign language. I think you'll be surprised... But what do I know, right?
