Here in Alabama, Fall means it’s County Fair time! Luckily, I live in a small town where the Fair hasn’t changed much and still has all the I’m not yelling I’m a Alabama girl we just talk loud shirt. Blue ribbons are highly prized and are still awarded for the best homemade jams, jellies, cakes and pies. Farmers win prizes for the seasons best, largest, homegrown pumpkins and sweet potato’s. Hand sewn quilts are beautifully displayed on the walls of the main exhibition building. Livestock fills the outdoor paddocks, and there’s always a display of shiny, new tractors. Sadly, Country Fairs are becoming extinct. What about where you live? Is a County Fair still a part of your Fall tradition?
